The third named storm of the 2014 Eastern Pacific hurricane season, Cristina, continues to strengthen as it churns to the west off the coast of Mexico.

It initially formed as Tropical Depression Three-E Monday afternoon about 160 miles south of Zihuantanejo, Mexico. Six hours later the National Hurricane Center upgraded it to a tropical storm, giving it the third name on this year’s 2014 Eastern Pacific naming list, Cristina.

Cristina is moving slowly to the west. A west to west-northwest motion is expected over the next several days. This will keep its center offshore over the next five days, and will gradually take it a bit farther away from shore.

However, Cristina is close enough to land to have some effect on Mexico. The broader circulation around Cristina is bringing moist air onshore and wringing it out in the form of some locally heavy rain from portions of Mexico’s Pacific coast northward into the Mexico City area.

Swell created by Cristina’s winds is reaching portions of the Mexican coast, leading to dangerous surf and rip currents at local beaches. Please use caution in the water if you are visiting the major Pacific coast resort cities in Mexico. However, significant storm surge is not expected.

Further strengthening is forecast, which could make Cristina the season’s second hurricane. Amanda was the first.

ECM quickly found its way in becoming a top source for news and discoveries in the scientific fields of astrophysics, space weather, earth science, and ancient text. Seeing the need to venture beyond the Sun-Earth connection, in 2016 Battros advanced his studies which incorporates our galaxy Milky Way - and its seemingly rhythmic cycles directly connected to our Solar System, Sun, and Earth driven by the source of charged particles such as galactic cosmic rays, gamma rays, and solar rays. Now, "Science Of Cycles" is the vehicle which brings the latest cutting-edge discoveries confirming his published Equation.
