A blast of charged particles has just hit the Earth’s magnetic field setting off a geomagnetic storm. What is unusual is the short time of notice and absence of sunspot solar activity. There are currently several sunspot regions with 1255 and 1257 being the most likely to produce M-class activity. However, it was a coronal hole which produced today’s storm.
Sunspots => Solar Flares (charged particles) => Magnetic Field Shift => Shifting Ocean and Jet Stream Currents => Extreme Weather and Human Disruption (mitch battros 1998)
There is a good chance today’s storm could be followed by solar flares producing a second wave of activity. Watch for an increase of earth changing events such as hurricanes, tornadoes, extreme weather, earthquake and volcanic activity.
